Ms. Barksdale is of counsel at Carrington Coleman. She is a transactional attorney with a practice focusing on real estate matters. Ms. Barksdale handles a range of real estate matters including home and construction real estate loans, foreclosures, community and subdivision development, and the acquisition and sale of residential and commercial property. Ms. Barksdale advises several homeowners' associations on compliance and enforcement issues and also has considerable experience in lease transactions for both the lessor and the lessee, including office and ground lease transactions, build-to-suit transactions, and residential lease and lease/purchase arrangements. Ms. Barksdale also advises financial institutions on real estate issues.
Ms. Barksdale counsels individuals regarding environmental matters, both as such matters are connected to the purchase and sale of real property and as compliance issues arise. Ms. Barksdale also has experience in entity selection and formation.
Ms. Barksdale is experienced in city governance issues as they relate to zoning and development. She has developed an expertise with regard to the City of Arlington and its zoning and development ordinances. Ms. Barksdale has also been involved with zoning issues with the City of Dallas.
Ms. Barksdale received the Merrill L. Hartman award in 1999 for outstanding Pro Bono efforts in serving the legal needs of the poor.
