Mr. Schantzen practices in the areas of securities litigation, directors and officers litigation, corporate governance litigation, and business litigation. He has experience representing clients against tort claims, securities laws claims, shareholder derivative suits, and internal investigations.
Prior to law school, Mr. Schantzen worked in the software industry, consulting Fortune 500 companies in software acquisitions, providing technical guidance, and supporting software implementations. Additionally, he has extensive experience negotiating sales contracts, service agreements, licensing agreement, and other agreements on behalf of software companies.
Representative Matters
Assisting in the representation of an investment firm in a multi-billion dollar lawsuit defending against allegations of racketeering, civil conspiracy, tortious interference, and commercial disparagement.
Counseled independent directors of a publicly traded company in connection with special investigation and litigation in response to shareholder derivative claims.
Represented client in response to claims alleged in a DTPA demand letter.
Advised professional organization in determining necessary procedures to follow in disciplinary proceedings against one of its members.
